The new graduate mentoring/apprenticeship program was designed to assist with the transition of student to functioning therapist in an outpatient environment. All new graduates are required to participate in this extensive program. The graduate is paired with a mentor in his or her clinic. This allows the new graduate to establish a working relationship immediately upon entering the clinic.
Each week the mentee and mentor will cover material that has been pre-outlined based on body region. The material is a guideline and the pair is encouraged to use this opportunity to discuss pertinent patient cases, anatomy, biomechanics, clinical reasoning, patient problems, literature review and treatment techniques.
Flexibility has been built into the program that allows the graduate and mentor to focus on individual needs. We have availability. Make the first step down the career path of physical, hand, and occupational therapy. |
