Lisa is originally from Wisconsin, and attended University of Iowa; she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in molecular biology/pre-med.

Moving to Seattle in 2000, she attended University of Washington, graduating in 2003 with her Masters of Occupational Therapy. Lisa completed an internship with Pacific Handworks, and became a staff therapist.
