It is time to work on your athletic base that will be the foundation of improved skating, puck skills and overall ability to play the game. If you and your teammates commit to improvement, you will see results on the ice.
Hockey is a skill intensive sport that requires a player to train to advance, within a focused year round training regime.
For all hockey players a balance must be struck: Train, all while igniting the passion, while avoiding burnout. Spring and summer is the time to train. Competing or playing year round interrupts the important athletic and skill development cycle.
Our comprehensive High Performance spring and summer player development program with IRG develops core athleticism, core skills, conceptual knowledge and offensive / defensive execution. Everett, WA |
When you decided to take control of your weight, you were committed to making changes. And you’ve made good progress. Unfortunately, life can present some challenges that weaken your commitment. So, how can you stay motivated over time? Here are a few suggestions.
- Make a list of the benefits of weight loss. Keep a list of reasons why you want to achieve a healthier weight. Be specific. For example, instead of “Better Health,” you might write, “Improve my cholesterol levels.” Find motivation in benefits such as “Having more energy” and “Feeling better about myself today.”

A great backpack is without a doubt one of the most important back-to-school purchases you can invest in for your child this year. Local Pilates Instructor Helps Aching Backs.
Mukilteo Beacon, July 13th, 2005 |
Got a sore neck? A nagging back ache? You’re not alone. Consider this: nearly 80 percent of all Americans will have back pain at some point in their lives, according the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. Back pain ranks second to the common cold as the main reason people see their physician. And it’s the third most frequent reason for having surgery.
So what’s the answer? If you were to ask Mukilteo physical therapist Tyra Malmborg-O’Kelley, she’d prescribe a strong dose of Pilates (pronounced puh-LAH-teez). “What sets me apart from other Pilates instructor is that I am a physical therapist and I have the knowledge, background and experience in working with injured people,” Malmborg-O’Kelley said. “When someone comes in stating they heard Pilates will help with an injury, I can quickly evaluate and assess what they need and direct them safely...” |

Sports Training, Physical Therapy Under One Roof
Snohomish County Business Journal, April 2004 |
On a recent Friday afternoon, Lance Miller put two teen-age track athletes through their pre-season paces. The teens, one an Everett High School junior, the other a Post Middle School eighth-grader, hopped in and out of the rungs of an agility ladder to work their foot speed. Then it was on to the starting blocks, where each of the boys received tips for improving their form from Miller, a physical therapist and certified strength and conditioning specialist.
But they weren’t on a track or some grassy school field; they were in downtown Everett at the Everett Physical Therapy & Sports Performance Center, which opened in February in the Everett Events Center. |
