Katie was born in Marlborough, Massachusetts. She knew from her freshman year of high school that she wanted to be a Physical Therapist, and she was accepted into an accelerated 3+3 Masters program in Physical Therapy at the University of Vermont, completing her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and her Masters of Physical Therapy in 6 years and graduating Phi Beta Kappa for her undergraduate studies, and first in her Physical Therapy class with a 4.0 GPA. She moved to Southern California after graduate school and worked in an outpatient orthopedic clinic there for 9 years before deciding to move to the Pacific Northwest. She is an APTA Certified Clinical Instructor and enjoys teaching Physical Therapy and Physical Therapy Assistant students, but more than that, she loves educating her patients about their injuries, surgeries, and pathologies and how Physical Therapy can help them return to the things they need, want, and love to do. She feels that patients tend to be more invested in their own rehabilitation if they understand what is going on and why they are doing what they are doing.
Katie currently lives in Lacey with her husband, Sean. Katie has been dancing for over 30 years and performing in musical theater productions for almost 25 years, but she also enjoys running, hiking, reading, and is recently exploring mountain biking.
