Maria Soderqvist has experience working with children in hospital and private settings in the areas of neurology, rheumatology and psychiatry.  For the past five years, Maria has practiced in a private pediatric therapy clinic and an aquatic therapy setting where she treats children from ages 12 to 18. Her passion for children and her ability to contribute to their opportunity to function optimally in life is key to her daily work.

Maria specializes in neurodevelopmental challenges and sensory processing differences, treating a variety of diagnoses such as autism spectrum disorder, attention-deficit disorders, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder and neuromuscular disorders. Maria is a former Halliwick® Concept swimming instructor, during which period of time she worked with children with special needs for many years in Sweden. She is also experienced in reflex integration techniques. As a longtime Briard owner, Maria finds that dogs are a valuable asset in the therapeutic setting.

Outside of work, Maria lives an active life. She enjoys spending time outdoors while running daily and training her dog. Much of her free time is dedicated to her husband and three children. Maria values the opportunities that she has had to live in different countries; the variety of cultures that she has experienced while doing so fascinate her.
