Celebrate National Brownie Day Without The Guilt!

The holidays are always full of family time, carols, and sweets. If you want to enjoy all of it, that includes the desserts! Here is a recipe from Prevention Magazine that gives you the tools to make guilt free brownies for national brownie day during the holiday season. Happy Baking!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 can (15.5 ounces) black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup 100-percent pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup ground flax seed
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 cup 60-percent cocoa bittersweet chocolate chips

DIRECTIONS

PREP: 20 Minutes
COOK: 30 Minutes
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Coat an 8″ x 8″ baking pan with cooking spray.
  2. Combine the beans, cocoa powder, pumpkin, honey, flax seed, eggs, cinnamon, and vanilla extract in a blender or food processor. Blend or process until smooth. Pour into the pan and sprinkle with the walnuts and chocolate chips. Bake for 30 minutes, or until the top springs back when touched lightly in the center with a finger.
