Kathie Skog joined IRG Cascade Children's Therapy - Mill Creek in August of 2005. She received her Bachelor of Science in Community Health from Western Washington University in 2002 where she focused on preventative health promotion for children. She then earned her Master of Occupational Therapy from the University of Washington in 2004. Kathie has presented her master's project at an American Occupational Therapy Association national conference and has published an article regarding her work in OT Practice® magazine.
Kathie’s current areas of specialty include neurological disorders, complex medical conditions, genetic differences, pediatric cancer, and rehabilitation from new onset injuries or diseases. Most summers, Kathie runs an intensive constraint-induced movement therapy program for children with hemiparesis.
Prior to becoming an occupational therapist, Kathie worked in a behavior management program for children with special needs who had extreme behavioral challenges and as an applied behavioral analyst (ABA) aide working with children with autism. Kathie has worked in pediatrics in a variety of environments including in-home therapy, community settings, in-patient rehabilitation and several private clinics.
Outside of work, Kathie is a licensed foster parent and is passionate about advocating for children within the foster care system. She has a busy homelife and enjoys spending time with friends, skiing and traveling.
